The Next step prep

SCROLL DOWN

The Next step prep

Our Mission is simple.

The Next Step Prep is a short term program aimed at high school graduates who received IEP or 504 support in school and are pursuing college education. Our professionally licensed and experienced staff composed of Speech Language Pathologists and Secondary Special Education Teachers will meet with students in a group and on an individual basis weekly for nine weeks. Staff and students will be discussing how to get support in college and how to problem solve specific college level issues i.e. how to talk to professors, roommates, advisors, meeting deadlines, etc. Students and their parents/guardians will create collaborative goals in the areas of post-secondary education, independent living, employment, and rec and leisure as well as discuss strategies to meet these goals.

There is an optional service for continued connection with your mentor for the first half the first semester in college.
